Land Activities

land ho!

If you’ve had your fill of waterfront sports and activities, then head for land! Spark up a game of PIG up at the basketball court, start a Bocci tournament, or volley the ball over the net at our beach volleyball court. It’s the perfect time to practice or try something new! Land activities are just one thing you’ll enjoy on a Boothbay Harbor vacation with us. All equipment and gear for land activities can be found in the Sail Shack on our waterfront.

Exploring our family resort grounds is just the beginning. For more information on all there is to see and do in our area, check out our Things To Do in Boothbay Harbor. It’s filled with our best recommendations for dining, sightseeing, shopping, and more in the Boothbay Harbor region. Then, check our availability to get started planning your next vacation to the area!

tennis & pickleball

Grab a racket or paddle and hit the courts with your crew! Play endless games of tennis or pickleball during your stay. If this is new territory for you, here’s a tip — tennis requires an overhand serve, while pickleball serves must be underhand. We highly  recommend that you try both while visiting.

And if you are looking for some added competition during your stay, check with our Front Desk for scheduled matches and sign up to play another guest or couple!

VOLLEYBALL

You’ve got the sun in your eyes, the wind at your back, sand under your feet… Where are you?

If your answer is at Linekin Bay Resort’s beach volleyball court in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, you’d be correct! Even if you’ve never played volleyball or beach volleyball before, let your vacation lead you to our sand court to volley the ball over the net with family and friends. It’s a type of fun that’s hard to experience unless you completely unplug, kick off your shoes, and dig deep. If you do it right, you’ll be covered in sand by the end!

BASKETBALL

PIG, like its counterpart game of Horse, is one of the most classic basketball games and can be played with two or more people. Pig requires creativity and accurate shooting and requires players to match each others’ shots to win. Or simply head to the court to shoot some hoops and work on your skills.

Our half-court basketball court is located on our Up-Top wooded area along with our tennis / pickleball court, and the playground. Basketballs are located in our Sail Shack at the waterfront.

LAWN GAMES

If the past few years has taught us anything, it’s that some of the best memories are made with family and friends around simple settings. Your group is sure to find joy playing classic games like Chess, Bocci Ball, or Cornhole, all outdoors on the lawn at Linekin Bay Resort. So, go ahead, kick off your shoes, put your toes in the grass, and play!

  • Giant Chess
  • Bocci Ball
  • Cornhole
  • Badminton

HIKING TRAILS

The Boothbay Region Land Trust trails are open to the public year-round. Hiking and walking trails can suit all skill levels and include woodlands, wetlands, salt marshes, islands, bird and butterfly habitats, historical and archaeological sites, and working waterfront.

Founded in 1980, the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) is a non-profit organization working to conserve the natural beauty and character of the Boothbay region including the towns of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, and Southport. Stop by the Front Desk for details and maps on the local trails.

    Board Games

Classic board games have been a part of our resort for decades. Some guests remember gathering every evening after dinner with family, and friends they had made during their stay, over games, stories, and music. Throughout the years some things have changed at LBR, but our love for board games around a table remains the same.  So grab a game for a quiet afternoon, evening, or a rainy day. Head over to West Lodge to challenge your partner or family to an old favorite like Checkers, UpWords, Monopoly, cribbage, or cards and much more!

    FIRE PIT

Let’s all gather around the fire pit, located oceanside in front of West Lodge, for fireside tales, s’mores, and laughs with family and friends all season long. Thursday evenings we supply guests with all your s’more needs – marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, and of course sticks for toasting marshmallows!

We try and keep the fire pit lit most evenings, so gather round and relax under the stars.
