7 Day sample Itinerary:
Linekin Bay Resort can be your one stop for a week vacation on the Maine coast. Leave behind the unpacking, rushing around, packing up and driving-off-to-the-next-place routine that feels more like a work week than a getaway. Here’s a sample of the many things to do during a 6 or 7-night stay at LBR.
Arrive and join us for a casual lunch, Paddle a kayak to Cabbage Island and back. Watch lobstermen pull up their traps from the waterfront. Relax on a comfy chaise lounge on the waterfront deck and enjoy your first Linekin Bay sunset.
Take an easy, educational nature trail walk to a nearby land trust with our “outdoor concierge” Rupert. Swim in the bay, or try the fun-for-all-ages tradition of jumping off the pier to get wet. Pace yourself during our famous Sunday buffet dinner with lobster bisque, oysters on the half shell, barbecue ribs, seafood and veggie sushi, several salads and platters, and many decadent desserts.
Get one-on-one instruction or join other guests to learn how to sail a Rhodes 19 sailboat on the bay. Play the first of many ping pong matches in the Kids Camp building. Relax in the heated saltwater pool. Visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens - the largest attraction of its kind in New England.
Enjoy a game of tennis on one of our two clay courts, rackets and balls provided, before our lobster bake picnic lunch on the front lawn with live music – yes we serve whoopie pies. Take a stand up paddleboard out for a spin and perhaps get an upclose look at a few seals. Take a whale watching boat tour from downtown Boothbay Harbor. Check out the nightly movie in the West Lodge TV room.
Second sailing lesson; practice makes perfect. Have the kitchen staff prepare a bag lunch and kayak to Barrett Park for the afternoon or take a day trip to Famous Monhegan Island where you can enjoy the spectacular cliffs and be back in time for dinner. Make s'mores at the evening bonfire on the beach.
Visit our weekly local farmer's market in Boothbay center and sample artisinal cheeses, breads, produce and purchase handmade crafts. If you have children, a stop by the Maine State Aquarium where kids can see and touch seacreatures, even pet a small shark is a real treat. Join Rupert for a walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor by way of the “secret stairs.” After lunch put your sailing skills to the test in the weekly guest-only Regatta or cheer on your favorite crew. Challenge someone to a game of Scrabble on the waterfront deck.
Walk to Villard Studios to take part in a painting demonstration or visit the fun-for-all-ages Boothbay Railway Village. Get your act together for the weekly talent show that takes place in the West Lodge after dinner - fun for all ages and always entertaining. Make one last sunset kayaking trip.
