What is the difference between the weekend wedding package and the all-inclusive packages?

The Resort is open from mid-May to mid-October. From mid-June to the end of August LBR operates as an all-inclusive resort, providing it’s guests with accommodations, three locally-inspired meals a day, sailing instruction, kids camp and full use of the resort’s many amenities. The rates are all-inclusive and are subject to a 10% amenity fee. Prior to and following the all-inclusive season guests have the opportunity to stay with us at greatly reduced rates. The weekend wedding packages are available from mid-May until mid-June and then again from September through mid-October. They include accommodations, full breakfast and full use of the resort’s amenities, with the exception of the sailing program and kids camp.

What is included with the cabin/room rate?

Full American Plan rates include lodging, all meals, daily housekeeping, private dock and recreation programs and facilities including heated swimming pool, tennis courts. LBR is also the only resort in New England that provides use of all kayaks, canoes and sailboats AND sailing instruction in the all-inclusive rate.

Why are your rates higher than some of the other hotels in the area, are you a good value?

Linekin Bay Resort is a great vacation value. When comparing our rates to the rates of other vacation destinations it is important to consider that your vacation is all-inclusive. This means that with the exception of the bar and any gifts you decide to purchase your rate includes everything. As we all know eating out on vacation can really add up; not at LBR, it’s all included. LBR is the only all-inclusive resort in New England that offers sailing and sailing lessons as part of your stay. Renting a sailboat with an instructor can cost hundreds of dollars alone, we offer this service, as well as full use of all resort amenities as part of your stay. Kids camp is another service not typically included at hotels. Once you consider all that is included, the actual cost of your accommodations at an oceanfront resort is very reasonable.

What is offered on your menu?

During our all-inclusive season our guests are treated to locally-inspired menus created by our Chef and prepared by our kitchen staff. Each day is different and there are always three or four choices at each meal.  Start your day with a full breakfast served buffet style while watching the lobstermen haul their traps. We always have a creative egg dish, such as eggs benedict or farmer’s frittata, a sweet option which may include Maine blueberry pancakes or maple walnut French toast as well as fresh fruit, granola and yogurt each morning. Our Maine roasted coffee always receives great reviews.

After swimming or sailing come in and enjoy a cup of traditional clam chowder from our soup and salad bar with a slice of our homemade bread. Again, the menu changes everyday and there is something for everyone.

Dinner is truly special at Linekin Bay Resort. Each evening our guests choose from a delightful selection of entrées -- seared duck breast with blueberry compote, diver scallops with wild mushroom risotto, steamed Maine lobster with drawn butter, prime rib with popovers or local vegetable stir fry. The menu always changes and the choices do not get easier.

There is always a kid friendly option if you are traveling with a youngster with a demanding palate and we are happy to accommodate most food requests.

Are you able to accommodate food requests?

Yes, we are happy to accommodate food requests whenever possible. Our expanded menu includes vegetarian, low-fat and gluten-free options in addition to our regular menu, offering guests two to three choices at each meal plus a kids meal option. Please discuss your needs before arriving at the resort so we can plan for your menu appropriately.

Tell me about kids camp?

Our kids camp, offered to children from ages 4 to 10, is held Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m.-12 noon and from 1:30pm – 4pm at the kids camp activity building. We may be offering an evening kids camp providing parents with the opportunity for a quiet dinner if they so choose. Our kids camp counselors choose daily activities based on the number and ages of the children participating in each session. There is no need to sign up in advance, we just ask that the children come within the first 30 minutes of the scheduled start time so the counselor can plan an appropriate activity. Arts & crafts, exploring the shoreline tide pools and beaches, soccer, and other games take place in the playing field.

What should I bring?

Don’t feel you have to bring everything, but a flashlight is highly recommended.

Here are a few things we provide, but you are encouraged to bring your own since our equipment is shared with all of our guests.

Tennis racquets, fishing poles, soccer balls, basketballs, ping-pong equipment, arts & crafts. We also provide lifejackets, but encourage guests with small children to bring their own to ensure proper fit.

What is there to do in the Boothbay Region?

What is there to do if the weather is less than perfect?

Linekin Bay Resort and the Boothbay Region have much to offer, even when the weather is less than perfect. If relaxing fireside with a book, playing games with friends or watching a movie is not enough stimulation, then set out to explore the Boothbay Region. Do you allow pets?

YES! Beginning in 2011, we are happy to extend an invitation to our guest’s four-legged family members (dogs only please). We have four cabins that are designated as pet friendly and can accommodate 1 to 5 guests) There is an off-leash play area near the cabins and walking trails on and near the property. The Boothbay area is very pet friendly, with shop owners providing treats and water bowls. Our local hiking trails and preserves are dog friendly. There are limitations to where you can bring your dogs at the resort and we ask our guests to follow our pet policies. Kennels are available in the surrounding area.

What time is check-in and checkout?

Check-in is 3 p.m. and checkout is 10 a.m., but please read on.

Official check-in time is 3 p.m., however guests are welcome to arrive earlier. Arriving guests should not enter their accommodation before registering at the front desk in the Main Lodge. Guests are welcome to arrive at the resort any time after 11 a.m. and are invited to enjoy lunch on the day their arrival. We have changing rooms and restroom facilities should you decide to take a swim before your room or cabin is ready. To allow staff enough time to properly clean lodging facilities we ask that guests not enter their room until 3 p.m.

Check out is strictly no later than 10 a.m.  Guests are welcome to purchase lunch at our waterfront deck and bar before their journey home, however, guests need to check out of their room(s) before lunch, no later than 10 a.m.

When is the best time to make a reservation?

LBR accepts reservations year-round; however specific accommodations are typically not booked more than 12 months in advance to give our returning guests the opportunity to reserve their room or cabin for the following summer. To give yourself the best opportunity to receive the cottage and dates of your choice, we recommend that you call us to make your reservation by March 1st.

What do you mean by rustic accommodations?

It’s not the Ritz, but it is far from roughing it. All accommodations have electricity, private bathrooms, private decks or front porches and comfortable beds (King, Queen and/or twin beds options available). Linens, towels and basic toiletries are also provided. The décor is simple, classic Maine and many of our waterfront rooms and cabins have a fresh new nautical theme. The cabins and lodges have small heaters and fans, but they do not have air conditioning, telephones, or televisions. Air conditioning is typically not missed as our nights cool down and there is almost always a breeze off of the ocean.

Do you have wireless Internet access?

Wireless Internet access is available at most of our guest accommodations. If your particular accommodation does not have access, the West Lodge has quiet and comfortable places for wireless access.

Can I bring my own kayak, sail boat or motorboat?

Yes. LBR does permit guests to bring their own boats to enjoy during their stay with us.


Please notify the staff upon arrival so we can assist you with finding the appropriate location to store your kayak when not in use.


LBR has canoes and there is almost always one available, so we recommend guests use ours, but as with kayaks, please notify staff upon arrival so we can assist you with storing your canoe when not in use.


LBR has moorings available to guests, however, guests MUST reserve moorings in advance of their stay to ensure availability and agree to any applicable fees.

Is there babysitting available?

If you are in need of a babysitter, please inquire at the front desk for assistance in making arrangements.

What if I exceed the maximum occupancy for a cabin?

Most cabins accommodate 1 or 2 guests beyond the maximum occupancy indicated on our reservation system. Additional guests are charged a daily rate based on their age. Standard rates are as follows, but can be lower depending on the accommodations and length of stay: 0–3, no charge, 4–10 $90 a day and 11 and older is $120 a day. Guests must notify LBR in advance of arrival so we can make sure that the appropriate sleeping arrangements have been made.

When can I make reservations for next summer?

About 50% of LBR’s guests return year after year for their summer vacation. We are very grateful to have such loyal guests and do our best to accommodate requests for their next stay. Our policy is to allow any guest to reserve their same accommodation for the following summer during checkout.

Guests are welcome to make reservations as far in advance as they would like, however we cannot guarantee the specific accommodation more than 12 months in advance. Guests are also welcome to request a different accommodation and, if this is not reserved by the current guest, we are happy to move you.
